Be satisfied by God, He is your greatest treasure. You have Him and He will not fail you or abandon you. He is and always will be your helper. Knowing these things you need not fear life nor people. By knowing you have God and understanding His power there is no reason to fear mere people.
Remember and learn from the leaders who have gone before you. Think about how much good has come from such lives.
Never forget that Christ is always the same. He is as He was and He is as He will be - unchanging. In the world fads come and go, rules and laws come and go. You all know how you can depend on some people sometimes but that can change day by day. There is one dependable constant in your life and that is Jesus Christ. Knowing that, do not get caught up in the next new thing, scheme or idea. Place your life in God for your strength comes from the grace He offers. He mentioned all the rules (which can be thought of as a new teaching or fad) about food which don't help anyone. Such rules are in one day and out the next. They aren't making anyone better, they are not constant. Don't focus in such things, focus on the Lord who is stable and unchanging.
Understand that this world is not our permanent home, this world is fading. Our true home is our eternal home and that is what we can look toward and cling to. Jesus suffered and died so that we have that new home to hope in while we are on Earth. Jesus sacrificed Himself and was treated much like the sacrificial animals of His day were treated. The animals were sacrificed and their bodies were tossed outside the city gates. He was sacrificed and His body was discarded outside the city as well. He was sacrificed so that our sins would be covered forever. In light of these things, we should respond with continual praise and worship declaring our allegiance to God. Do good, share with and help those in need. Such behavior pleases God.
Obey your spiritual leaders for it is their job to teach you and watch over your souls. Respond to them in ways that will bring them joy.
Chapter 13 closes with a blessing that Jesus, who gave so much in such a perfect manner, would equip you to accomplish His will through His power. May He produce every good thing in you that pleases Him. To Him be the glory forever.
Then he wished God's grace upon them all.
On Easter Sunday, the 31st, your study of Hebrews and your reading of Proverbs will be completed. Way to go !
HAPPY EASTER to you all! In a couple days we will have the opportunity to join our brothers and sisters praising God and giving Him all manner of worship for who He is and for all He has done. Praise be to God.
I show there are two smaller books that you have not done for the 30 day study yet. I say this because my list got a little messy where these are recorded. I show Ephesians and Philippians are the two smaller ones left. If any of you think the group has already studied either of them, please let me know. If we all agree that those two are left, let's move on to Philippians for April. Philippians is only 4 chapters long so this will be a bit of a break after reading a book as powerful as Hebrews.
